Location
I took this photo just outside my home in Bossonnens, Switzerland.Time
It was at 20:51; as it was at the beginning of June, the sun was setting.Lighting
Having a warm light on the left and a very cold light on the right, and past set me up very quickly, I set my camera to "flash" as the color temperature to get an average color in case of lightning.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Lens: Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM used with aperture priority at 17mm / f22 / ISO 50 this has allowed me to have one second of exposure time. Tripod Sirui. Kata raincover for camera. Remote control.Inspiration
In search of rural landscape in bad weather for a current project, as soon as the weather encourage people to go home, I go out ;-)Editing
Yes, I made a slight post-processing: a light emphasis on the contrast. In my camera bag
I normally have with me: Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III Lens: Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM + Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM + Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USMII Filters: ND 8 + ND 400 + ND 1000 + UV + circular polarizer 1 flash Canon Speedlight 600EX-RT with his radio transmitter ST-E3RT Remote control + Kata raincover for camera. And hanging on the bag my Tripod Sirui.Feedback
If you want to take pictures of storms, be careful. Opt for carbon tripods and avoid as much as possible all metallic accessories. If possible, never be the highest point in the nearest landscape; if that's the case, use your camera as a lightning rod by putting it in the top position and hold yourself to one to two meter being crouched. Take pictures in gusts and put more emphasis a long exposure to capture more lightning and minimize the trip number.
