A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Joel Grimes for his collaboration as a guest judge. For Joel art is an extension of life. He believes his passion to create is built into his very DNA. Joel believes that art is not simply defined by the finished product, but by the process one pours into the very act of creating. Over the years, he has sought to be an ambassador for the photographic process, by teaching workshops and offering video tutorials. He feels that by being an open book with his process, he has an opportunity to inspire others to follow their dreams and passions to create.

"Choosing a Grand Prize winner is no easy task. For a photograph to be successful, you have to play into your viewers emotions. It has to strike a nerve an make them stop and say wow! Keeping your images simple. Too much clutter will visually confuse your audience and fail to win them over. So ask yourself, what am I trying to say, and what is getting in the way of achieving that end result. Also, keep in mind that every viewing process is subjective.
