2022 – Project 52 – “Week 47” – Sunday, November 20, 2022
This month’s challenge was “Architecture”
This church is located at Sibbald Point.
Originally a wood and plaster church built in 1839 by English and Scottish benefactors. The church was replaced by the stone church built in Gothic style in 1876 – 1877.
In 1944 – 49 the tower was rebuilt and reduced in height because of structural deterioration. The gargoyles, in this case, rams' heads are used as water spouts. The cross on the west roof peak is a Celtic Cross which has a circle to signify eternity.
