Massive icicles with some delicate tips! Just growing or intermittent melting associated with water fluctuations?

When the big waves come in and splash over the rocks it form the icicles. When the waves are smaller they go over the icicle and forms the bulb as it laps over and freezes. The very tip is because the waves got a little higher than the lapping waves. It’s interesting to see the difference each day. The lake does not freeze like a normal lake because it’s so big and deep. Maybe by Feb it will freeze out from the shore as it’s finally cold enough.
