Enclosed by the valley of the Sure you will find the village of Esch-sur-Sûre. It lies on a meander of the river and at the foot of the ruins of the oldest castle in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. From the ruins, freely accessible to everyone, one has a beautiful view of the village with its narrow streets. The image of the village has hardly changed since the Middle Ages. To the west of the village is the Lake of the Upper Sûre, which is a popular attraction in the summer.
