Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the north side of the Truckee River in Sparks, Nevada. The light just above the trees is at the Reno/Tahoe International Airport.

Time

The moon rise was shortly after full sunset. I timed the photo to catch the shadow side of the full moon.

Lighting

Lighting was natural. The haze is smoke from some California fires that offen settles into the valley in the evening. During this photo we had a few months of smoke so it was thicker than usual.

Equipment

I used my Samsung Galaxy S10e.

Inspiration

I enjoy moon rises. We are 4400 ft above sea level so the skies here are more intense. This particular view was more contrasting than usual so I just had to capture it.

Editing

Picture is exactly as it was taken.
