"In Flagella Paratus Sum" (I'm ready to die), is the new work of art made in black marble by Italian artist Jacopo Cardillo, Jago. A young refugee lying on the ground, in the middle of Sant'Angelo Bridge in Rome. The figure, curled up, represents one of the thousands of people who travel every day to escape war, drought and persecution, suffering every kind of humiliation during the trafficking. Before Sant'Angelo Bridge, the sculpture was on "Ocean Vikings", a boat that deals with intercepting and rescuing refugees from Libya
It is a blow to the heart to see her lying there, still asleep, stunned in the grip of heat. She seems to float on a sea of cobblestones, black like the marble of which the sculpture is made,.
