This large park is located in the Saanich district of Victoria, BC, Canada. ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ (Tlay-will-nook) means 'place of refuge'. The Indigenous people share the story of a big canoe that was anchored to a large Arbutus (Red Madrone) during a great flood, hence the name. Photo taken August 25, 2022.
