Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in North Wales at Llyn Padern near Llanberis.

Time

It was taken mid-afternoon after I had walked part-way up Mt. Snowdon and seen the waterfall in the area. I wanted to do all I could in this area, as it was such a beautiful day.

Lighting

As it was such a fine day, I wanted to capture the stillness on the water, even though there was a breeze about.

Equipment

I used Nikon D7200 with a Nikon 18-200mm lens. To get the effect on the water, I also used an ND1000 filter and tripod.

Inspiration

I have always wanted to take a photo of the Wanaka tree and when I read there was one like it in the area, I just had to capture it.

Editing

I merged two photos together as I didn't want to capture the movement of the wind in the tree branches.

In my camera bag

My Nikon camera and telephoto lens along with a tripod when I know I want to capture open shutter photos and ND filters.
