Sacsayhuamán, possibly from Quechua language, saqsa waman (satisfied hawk), is a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire.
The complex was built by the Inca in the 15th century, particularly under Pachacuti and successors. They built dry stone walls constructed of huge stones weighing up to 12 tons. 20.000 Workers transported the boulders from 20 km. far, carefully cut to fit them together tightly without mortar. The site is at an altitude of 3,701 m.
Located on a steep hill that overlooks the Cusco city, the fortified complex has a wide view of the valley to the southeast. Archeological studies of surface collections of pottery at Sacsayhuamán indicate that the earliest occupation of the hilltop dates to about 900 CE.

Usually they peirce a smalls in a line then insert spokes in the them and hammer away at eat spike repeatedly eventually the spikes inter deeper into the rock and crack it open. Then then use harder stones to polish them to the shape they want. On places that are sntable the made a type of cement and inserted it into cracks and crannies tom stabilize them.

Cool… as I understand this wall is pre Inca… and as seen in documentaries/photographs, the Incas had built on top of the existing wall structures… phenomenal wall construction tho!… thanks for sharing!…
