A female red deer looks round at me on a walk in Richmond Park. I think we surprised each other, but she seemed less fazed by the encounter than I was, fumbling for my camera. It seemed a nice idea at the time to have her head and neck almost out of picture with the green ferns and trees out of focus in the background. It creates a sense of surprise as your eyes are looking for something in focus, then she 'appears' on the right.
