Behind The Lens

Location

I took this near Kedleston Hall whilst out walking during my recovery from surgery.

Time

It was late afternoon in winter so the sun sets fairly quickly in the midlands it was about 4pm

Lighting

I have always loved the way mist dampens the sunlight, its quite rare to see mist and sunset together around Kedleston as the wind usually clears it away quickly

Equipment

I took this with my mobile phone using the manual settings as I didn't have my camera bag with me

Inspiration

Sunset in winter is one of my favourite things to look at in nature, the play of colours against a sleeping woodland

Editing

I edited out some of the haze from the image as the mist was turning to fog.

Canon 5D mk3 18-45mm lens Tripod Remote and sensor

Feedback

It's OK to wait for a picture to form, but timing is essential when taking pictures of mist/fog as it can clear quickly.
