Location
The photo was taken in my front yard, in Mesa, AZ.Time
This photo was taken midday, around lunch time. I had noticed a headless pigeon carcass on the ground, which made me look up into the tree. There was a whole family sitting there watching me.Lighting
The lighting is just natural lighting from the midday sun. The canopy of the tree providing a nice softening filter.Equipment
This photo was captured with my Canon PowerShot SX520HS.Inspiration
Owls are such beautiful and interesting birds. The opportunity to capture them in film in my own front yard was irresistible.Editing
I don't have any special photo editing software, only what is provided in my tablet. So I only enhance the coloring and contrast. In my camera bag
Depending on weight restrictions I either carry my Canon Power Shot SX520HS or a Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I have spare batteries and lense cleaning supplies.Feedback
My advice would be to always have a camera ready to go. One just never knows what they might find or discover that would be a shame not to capture. I don't feel that every shot needs to be set up or planned, and some of the best captures are purely taken opportunities.
