This photo was taken at Dahlia Hill in my home town of Midland MI. I love taking photo's of everything, especially flowers! I am a self taught photographer.Time
I took this photo in the afternoon at about 3:30pm. It was a hot September afternoon. I used my macro lens so yes I was using my tripod as I have shaky hands.Lighting
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon at Dahlia Hill. I used the natural light to my advantage and ending up with this beautiful photo.Equipment
I used my Nikon D-7200 with my tripod and my macro 105mm Sigma lens. No other equipment needed.Inspiration
I was inspired by all the beautiful Dahlia's at Dahlia Hill. Nature's beauty always inspires me.Editing
I did my post-processing using Luminar 4. I cannot give all my secrets away!In my camera bag
I pack my Nikon D-7200 with my 105mm Sigma macro lens. I also have my nifty-50mm 1.8. I also have my 55-300mm Nikon and my newest wide angle 10mm-24mm. Plus I alway have my trusty tripod.Feedback
I would say be patient when using a macro lens, especially if you are hand holding. Try rocking a little to get your focus. I always check the weather and try not to go out if its to windy when I am doing flower photography. Trying different angles. Getting down low to capture the sky in your background. Have fun and never give up.
