Creative Springtime Portrait photography. I called this candid portrait of my daughter sitting on the steps on a Spring visit to a garden , 'Return of Persephone'.The expression on my daughters face made me think of the old Greek myth and I thought that this look filled with wonder , happiness and hope would probably have been similar to that on the face of Persephone as she left Hades each year and got to see the light and celebration of love through the onset of Spring that her mother began to welcome her home. it was taken in natural dappled light sitting under, and looking up at, a flowering Magnolia tree , not in view ,because I wanted all the attention of the viewer to be drawn to the beautiful expression on her face and the illuminance of her skin and eyes in the spring morning light.
