Behind The Lens

Location

This shot of Spitfire DV-A VH-RAF was taken on a "flight with a Spitfire" experience over the Stradbroke in Queensland on a clear Winters day.

Time

Photo was taken from the back of a twin engine Chieftain, through the Perspex window, on a early morning flight.

Lighting

No. It was just clear blue skies all the way to space.

Equipment

Canon EOS 5D Mark III Aperture 10/1?ISO 100?Shutter 1/160?Focal Length 67/1 Lens 24-70 mm f2.8L USM

Inspiration

I have always enjoyed taking photos of World War 2 aircraft (Warbirds) from the ground at airshows, so when I was given the opportunity to air to air photos of one of the most iconic warbirds I jumped at it.

Editing

Yes. I did a colour balance.

In my camera bag

I run a Canon EOS 5D mk3 body with a 24-70 mm f2.8L USM, a EF70-200mm f2.8L IS USM and a EF16-35mm f2.8 II USM.

Feedback

Use a slow shutter speed to capture propeller blur but be carful of camera shake.
