Location
This image was taken on a back road outside the town of Dalby Queensland.Time
It was late afternoon on the 17th of December 2014. I was traveling for work through Western Queensland and about to arrive in Dalby for an over night stay when I noticed the storm starting to build up. I took off in the direction of the storm as I knew of a location of a back road that would look good that time of the afternoon.Lighting
As it was late afternoon, I had a feeling that light would really bring out the cloud and start to bathe the shed and crop in soft golden glow. Also there were no clouds in the west at that point to block the sunlight. There was lighting coming from the cloud and it was good luck or good timing that I was able to get this image.Equipment
Shot with a Canon EOS 5D. Canon EF 70-200mm 2.8 lens at Aperture f/8?ISO 100?Shutter 1/400?Focal Length 51/1Inspiration
I do like to Storm chase when I get the opportunity. There is something about the power in Nature that just takes your breath away.Editing
The image was shot in camera RAW and processed in Photoshop RAW with final editing in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I run a Canon EOS 5D mk3 with Canon EF 35-70-mm 2.8, a EF 16-35mm 2.8 and EF 70-200mm 2.8 lenses which cover my landscape, Hot rod, Pinup and Warbird photography.Feedback
When it comes to storms it helps if you know a bit about the landscape around you. Where is a great back road to travel, are there any objects that you can use to your advantage. In the case of this image I was in the right place at the right time.
