Behind The Lens

Location

Our small town is one of Norways most popular summer resorts. It was, way back in the sailing ships era. one of the main habours for emigration from Norway to the USA. These days it's a small town with 10.000 inhabitants in the winter, and a lot more in the summer. In this small town we have a big antique-shop located close to the water, with a LOT of stuff related to the sea. This photo was taken inside the shop but .... I have taken the liberty to include a view since the original window faced the buildind next door.

Time

The original was taken with my iPhone - in Raw - in the middle of the day, but since this is indoors in fairly bad lighting the time of day did not matter much..

Lighting

This was taken in Raw, which gave me the best opportunities for further "refinement". The light is only natural light from the window.

Equipment

iPhone .

Inspiration

In this town and this antique-shop the inspiration is all around all the time. This piece just begged to be photographed ,,,, and it had to be called the "The Sailmakers Workshop".

Editing

Yes. The windom looks into an other wall, so I had to "change the view" in Photoshop. Apart from that, the post-processing is done in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Ooooo. I carry a iPhone 12, a Fuji X100S and a Sony Aiii - but not necessarily all of them all the time.

Feedback

Here I need to quote Henri Cartier-Bresson - " It is an illusion that photographs are made with the camera. .. they are made with the eye, hearth and head." So .... look around you. You do not have to go far :-)
