The Dartford Warbler is not the easiest bird that I've come across to photograph. In fact, they can be quite a difficult customer to tackle when out in the field.
Heathland is a favorable location with a vast mixture of heather and gorse and once you hear that distinctive 'scratchy' vocal that they produce then it's game on.
