Location
In nearby Glossop there are two 'formal' parks, one is the more widely attended Manor Park, but the more special space is Woods Park, which also features the local swimming pool. It was effectively built across a hillside, with a former hospital at the top of the hill, the baths at the bottom, and a river running through from top to bottom in the duck pond/lake. Almost near the bottom of the hill is the waterfall, which is sheltered/shielded by trees, with just the front on display in grand flow on the day the photo was taken.Time
Most Saturdays I go swimming, and prior to my swim, I'll have a walk around the park between 1 pm and 2 pm and this photo was taken then.Lighting
It was natural daylight on a slightly cloudy/miserable day - but it leads to perfect conditions for the waterfall.Equipment
It was a chance photo in a way, so it was taken with just the coat/bag camera a Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II, which is a little different to the usual Nikon which is the main camera.Inspiration
I've taken photos of this at other points of the year, but it's always better when it's in full flow, and with a slow shutter speed it has a great look.Editing
Just converted to black and white in lightroom, to my own preferred setting. In my camera bag
On a light bag day, as it was for the swimming, I had my Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II, iPhone, and a spare batter - a lot lighter load than the usual camera bagFeedback
Explore your local patch, this is almost in plain sight but slightly hidden in a local park, but the quiet park rather than the more well-known one, so always keep an eye out which might be hidden in plain sight.
