Storytelling Nature Landscape Photography in Black and White. taken from an elevated position (high POV) looking down from the cliffs at Church Bay on the Isle of Anglesey , UK. I love taking photographs of the details of rocks and rocky landscapes but I have begun to try to tie in a storytelling aspect in my images of rocks whilst still maintaining the detail of form and shape in the rocks themselves. This photograph uses many of the techniques from the photographers handbook to achieve those aims , including a subtle variation of the rule of thirds and leading lines. In order for the viewer to reach the point where the hopeful fisherman is showing the human relationship with nature the eye is lead across the rocky foreground so that the viewer gains a tactile experience , as though walking across the shore , across the rocks themselves . That experience allows and understanding that the main subject of the photograph is not the story being played out at the edge of the cliff but the form of the cliff itself. Nature photography
