Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture during one of my trips to Paris, it is the park of Palais Royal which I love because it's always pretty empty and very photogenic.

Time

It was during the day, sometime in the late afternoon, the weather was very grey, it was raining showers the whole morning and first part of the afternoon but it brightened up a bit just in time for us to take a few pictures.

Lighting

The lighting is completely natural, it was pretty clouded so the tones of the image are very soft.

Equipment

I use Nikon D800 with 50mm lens 1/4 aperture.

Inspiration

My main inspiration for this photo was my model Camille, we knew each other through social media and wanted to make a photoshoot together for quite a while but could never find a free moment. I think Camille looks like Preraphaelite models (which is one of my source of inspirations by the way) and I absolutely love her long red hair and her beautiful skin.

Editing

I don't like to edit my pictures too much but I played a bit with color curves in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

I only have my Nikon D800 and the 50mm lens, that's it.

Feedback

My main advice would be to find models that inspire you and just go for a walk with them no matter the weather, don't wait for perfect conditions ;) That day both Camille and I were having a bad day and the weather wasn't what I expected/wanted for the photoshoot but we both comited and I think the result is not that bad !
