Black and White Rural Architectural Landscape Photography. A moment of stillness in a local churchyard as dawn begins to break over the hedgerows . This creative rural landscape broken leading lines and the everyday to create an emotive image that seems to examine the themes of Life and Death , Mortality spanning over time and Light and Dark. Taken during Halloween week , this is how the photograph gained it's title. As with many low lit atmospheric cemetery compositions the image is somewhat chilling within its calm serenity , spooky and sinister despite the reassuring arrival of light and utter stillness. The dead are sleeping , but have they just returned to bed , and in some cases not quite managed to close their draughty crypts just before they are hit by the cold light of dawn.
