Flash Macro Nature Photography. Fine Art Macro study of a fungi on a piece of fallen tree taken at Newborough Forest on the isle of Anglesey , UK during a night walk. This portrait of a fungi was taken from a low pov with a flash gun angled at a high POV to the side of both the subject and the camera to create a textural twilight composition which would not be as vivid or atmospheric with the flash in front of the camera. Shallow depth could also be well used with this angle of lighting as well as the ability to achieve a rich saturation of night time colour and attain the macro textural details of the fungi heads. Although the image appears to be in twilight conditions it was actually taken past midnight. Nature macro photography
