Stretching the madam dppd.
I wonder if she would be amused or offended, would the original artist be horrified at how his work was altered…more than once.
She was a patron of the arts…..
I hope their ghosts don’t haunt me
The artists name has come through the photo so I guess that must be his watermark, REH but flipped upside down.
He must have spent a great deal of time on HER, the painting must have taken so many hours so many little details and it truly has all whistles and bows.
It’s come through during the attempt to literally clean 40 something years (possibly more)of dust. The original print had fallen slightly from its position. Gravity!!! The print had started moving south and the fabric had moved becoming wonky and rippled.
Just add water and slowly the years of dust departed Just add a bit of pressure and the ripples will straighten and calmness comes back.
After taking this replica and having some fun with the effects I went on to learn more of madam dppu. And the artist who painted her. A photo of a 60-70s home decor silk print
Converted in phone and using VIEWBUG effects to make a softer pastely image changing the hues to green, green blue, blue, pink.
Elongated-stretched
