Abstract Fine Art Anatomy Study Photography in Black and white. Taken in low directed light using macro techniques from a high POV , this is a study of the eye from an unusual perspective. The concept was to study the anatomy of the whole eye area and draw focus from the usual central subject of an eye photograph that of the eyeball. The overhead spotlight created by sitting below a wall light in a dimly lit room allowed the light to be focused on the specific areas involved in the study creating an intrinsic , but softened , contrast which illuminated the details of the eye lid , eye bags and a skin tag which are all features that can occur during the ageing process of a human eye and usually give each individual their unique facial expression and personality far more than the eyelashes and colour of the eye do. Taking the study in black and white added to the proof that the colour of the eye can be a distraction from truth rather than a window to the soul.
