Storytelling Seaside Action Photography. A portrait of two friends on a families day out to the beach which could at first seem blissful and innocent , until you look a little closer at what was going on. This is street photography at the seashore, candid action of the everyday , as if we all take the time to do a little quiet people watching on the beach we will often see this sort of evil exchange between children at play , usually while their parents are totally oblivious of what is going on .... until it all ends in tears , of course. This was not a battle between the sexes , but a battle of the sexes , joined and united to fight as one against another group of children further along the beach, after a touch of manly persuasion and the time to dry off after the female comrade's dip in the sea. Taken , originally in colour using shallow depth and a ground level perspective I chose to edit the final image to a black and white , high key action portrait which concentrates on the details in the children's behaviour and posture as they pop out from the blurred beach life background beyond.
