Night Street photography. This is a photograph capturing the Bon , or Obon , a tradional Buddhist festival on the streets of Okinawa , Japan . it celebrates life and respect for the ancestors while banishing ghosts and evil spirit from the streets and houses. held in the height of Summer , people wear lightweight kimonos even at night to both honor the tradition and keep off the heat. the original image was taken using vintage black and white film stock on my treasured first camera , an Olympus OM2sp. I then used my chosen creative process it by photographing the copy on a high ISO rather than scanning and then editing it in lightroom because i like the rich ,vintage inky quality it creates producing a newspaper editorial style.
