Location
I took this photo at one of my favorite places; Catalina State Park in Tucson, Arizona. The park is only 4 miles from my front door, and the ruins, mountains, and desert come together for unique photo opportunities.Time
I love hitting the desert right after a hard rain. It seems to bring out the deserts rich natural colors. I made my way to the park the morning after a summer monsoon and managed to grab this shot before the sun broke.Lighting
Being a nature guy, I'm using mostly natural light. I can only share what is elementary; get out when the light is good and use it.Equipment
I used a Nikon Z7ii with the 24-70mm F4 Nikkor Lens.Inspiration
I am always delighted to find geometric shapes in nature.Editing
On this particular image, I did not. I typically use CaptureOne, and do at least basic editing, but for some reason I just enjoyed this image as it was shot.In my camera bag
Still saving up for that next lens for my new camera :( . Other than the camera and lens, I also carry a lens hood, an ND filter, extra SD cards and batteries, charging cables, a tripod, a gray card, and, being in Arizona, plenty of water.Feedback
I guess I would say, keep an eye out for the little things! I got this photo in the foothills of some majestic mountains, and had I not looked down from them, I may have missed this pretty little flower curled in the morning's dew.
