Landscape Nature Photography. If you know your share of British Rural Old Wives Tales then you may understand how this Macro study of Gorse got it's name. As country folk law has it , the bounty of gorse flowers that bloom at the beginning of Spring foretells how lucky you will be in Love in the coming year as each flower symbolises a kiss that you will receive. It certainly is a lovely tale which must have filled the hearts of young romantics with Hope in a good season. This close up definitely had greater significance than in many years as it was taken in 2021 when everyone had been suffering from the distance and isolation from loved ones that we had , had to suffer across the globe , and we all needed something to lift our belief that the future would be brighter and months of loneliness would come to an end. The macro was taken from a low pov using a tilted lens and shallow depth to produce a clear detailed study of the flowers but also a nice abstract nature landscape composition of the countryside in Spring.
