Location
This was shot on a walk in the upper stretches of the River Eden in Cumbria. It is the highest waterfall on the river.Time
It was shot in the later part of the afternoon with the sun looking straight down of the waterfallLighting
Just light shining directly on to the waterfall combined with a low flow made it look very sparkling.Equipment
My main camera was in for repair so I used my camera phone (a Motorola)Inspiration
The waterfall looked quite dramatic as the only view was from above and the flow was low and the light made it look sparkly!Editing
NoIn my camera bag
Canon 70D , Canon 50mm f1.8 and my trusty Sigma 18-300 f3.5-6.3 DCFeedback
Look before you shoot may sound obvious but use your feet to get the view that you want and keep looking so you get the picture that feels right. Good photography depends on thinking and practice not simply having shiny new kit! This is a location I want to visit when the flow is much higher and so more dramatic.
