I took this photo in my backyard where tall trees are cultivated for bird watching. Trees always attract many birds giving natural photo opportunities like this one.Time
The photo was taken in the morning at 10 am long back.As I usually wake up early in the morning knowing the activity of birds starts since early morning and preparing with the camera I keep myself ready for any surprising activity like this one.This usually helps for the good shots of the birds.This morning was very pleasant with bright sunlight and clear blue sky making the Blue Jay for a nice view.Here surprisingly the Blue Jay was showing many positions as if modeling for the photo shoot.Shot with handheld camera.Lighting
The lighting this morning was very delightful with bright sunlight and the clear open blue sky to support it.Every thing was very much helpful for good shots and the presence of this Blue Jay was a surprising as this bird is not easily seen in this location.Hence every thing went well to get excellent photos of this bird like this one.Equipment
This shot was taken with Canon EOS 1000 D camera and Canon EF-S 55-250 mm lens,Handheld.All my shoots at that time were done on this combination.Inspiration
I am usually inspired by the activities of birds as they are all natural activities showing their lifestyle,behavior etc.Thus this Blue Jay was showing many eye catching styles like one seen here with many others.This was a very much rare opportunity to shoot its many different poses as this bird is usually seen in sitting position.Thus this photo is one out of many I shot at this time making all of them a lovely visual memory.Editing
These days every image has to be corrected to make it better with the help of many software.This image was also corrected with Photoshop.First I cropped the image for better composition,then to bring out the beauty hidden in the dark portion of the wings with the help of Shadows and Highlight,.making the colors bright with color adjustment etc.This was a long shot and had to be cropped to get rid of unwanted stuff around the Blue Jay to make him prominent.In my camera bag
I usually carry very limited equipment with me.I have now the Canon EOS 1200 D camera and Tamron 18-400 mm f/3.5-6.3 ,Di II VC HLD lens always attached to it having a UV filter on it.The lens is very much useful covering a great distance avoiding lens changing and giving very nice results.I have a thinking that the eye behind the camera is most important hence this much is enough for me .Feedback
Keeping yourself alert all the time and keeping your camera always in ready position for any unexpected moment is very much necessary.Always keep in mind that the eye behind the camera is all important than the equipment.To support this saying I like to mention that my photos taken on very simple compact camera have won international competitions and have appeared in the special publications.First decide your way of photography then choose your equipment supporting it.LOVE NATURE, IT PROVIDES ENDLESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR GREAT SHOOTS. This is may experience since last 45 years of photography.
