Behind The Lens

Location

Patuxent Ponds is a very small local county park. I went to see if I could find the spot where I found butterflies last year, but didn't. I didn't want shots of the algae covered pond, but then spotted the light on this tree branch and focused on it.

Time

I think it was late afternoon, on a sunny day.

Lighting

I just used the available light.

Equipment

Handheld Nikon D7100. Tamron zoom lens

Inspiration

Not finding butterflies, I didn't want to waste the trip, and kept trying to find "some" shots.

Editing

Just Luminar AI

In my camera bag

D7100, Tamron Zoom, Nikon 35mm prime lens, usually a Nikon sb900 flash, spare memory cards, spare battery, some business cards, a model release, and my attorney notice about legality of photos of people in public spaces.

Feedback

Don't give up if you can't find your primary shot. Keep looking.
