Tropical Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica) also called Scarlet Milkweed, Annual MIlkweed, and Bloodflower, is a tender erect perennial often grown as an annual. It is often found naturalized in waste places, roadsides, or fields. Showy bright orange-red flowers form in clusters on top of leaves. The seeds, released from pods after the blooming season, have a built-in parachute of silky hairs to aid in dispersal floating on wind currents to their final destination.
