The characteristic spiny appendage on the top of the Horned Screamer's head makes this a unique and bizarre bird. It is a relative of ducks and swans is found along rivers and freshwater marshes in northern and central South America. This particular one was photographed in the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon.
