I took this photo in my home studio in South Carolina, I am learning new things about lighting and macro, this is part of a series I did called Sweet Memories, candies that reminded me of my brother, sister, and me growing up with these candies which at the time did not cost like it does now, some even are now dis continued.Time
This was taken it the afternoon, with a Nikon Speedlight synced with my Nikon D7000. Thought about light painting it but wanted a different feel, it was to be fun but nostalgic.Lighting
My Godot remote was not usable so I actually used the in camera master slave flash with remote. Bounced of a low ceiling,Equipment
I used my trusty Nikon D7000, Sigma 28-80 lens, SB800 speed light, and tripodInspiration
As I mentioned before, this is part of a series Sweet Memories, about candy that brought back the days of childhood with my brother, sister, and me. The trips to the drug store to pick out, the compromises made( you buy this and I buy that then we can share) the fun, happy memories. So many memories I remember and wanted to share.Editing
Not a lot of post processing. I believe in the whole get it right in the camera. Learned on film so you learned to get it right, miss film but I also like the instant gratification of digital and Photoshop. I did clean so spots, but most was done in camera. In my camera bag
Oh, wow, so many odd things as well as my equipment. I have my D7000, my Nikkor 18-55, my Nikkor 55-300, SB 800 Speedlight, Nikkor 2.8 prime lens. Add in the lens cleaning, some rubber bands, pennies, batteries, backup Scandisk SD cards, business cards, backup camera battery, and of course Tylenol.Feedback
Have fun, enjoy what you do. You can have fun with very little and still get a great image. Find the type of photography you like and go with it. When comparing yourself it should be to the photographer you were, and how much you learned and how far you came.
