USA. Southern California, Pacific Palisades :This (lipstick )Red Dragonfly California was spotted on a fern. The Red Dragonfly is also known as Red-Veined Darter. This is a mature male Red Dragonfly. It's characteristics are a red abdomen and the wings display red veins. The females have yellow veins in the wings, the abdomen is yellow color. The juvenile males look like the female but a redder shade in the body. Information on the Dragonfly was found on the internet . Cropped the photo to fill the frame with the Red Dragonfly California.
