Close up Floral Art photography. Unexpectedly found and captured , the first Iris I spotted on my walks whilst taking images as part of my ongoing project called, "Over the Garden Wall" , featuring the interesting and unusual things I see leaning on or over the walls and fences I pass on daily walks around my village of Llanfachraeth on the Isle of Anglesey , off the north wales mainland in the UK. This beautiful purple iris had sprung up a little early in the season , probably because we had , had a spell of unusually warm weather in early April , another indicator of the way they climate is changing even in wet and windy Wales. the image was taken in natural light on quite a dull and cloudy afternoon and the angle was hard to achieve as this iris was sticking out from a shady corner further back behind other plants and foliage beyond a high stone wall. I was on the footpath below the wall line so it involved a low POV from need as much as choice ( I was actually stood upon tip toes trying not to stand on the plants on the verge a and leaning against the wall as i took it much to the amusement of passing drivers , I think I am doing very little to change my reputation for being an odd ball) I also needed to use telephoto lens with enough zoom to produce the Shallow Depth close up image allowing the flower to stand out against the shadow filled and busy background. A little extra light graduation and minor cropping was required in the light room to bring out the true vibrant colours of the flower because of the very dull conditions the shot was taken in.
