Behind The Lens

Location

A cold summer hike at 10.30 pm in a remote farm near Husavik, Iceland brought me to some discarded farm equipment. I liked the shapes against an interesting sky.

Time

This was taken at 10.30 pm. But being summer (June 1), it is light even at night.

Lighting

I liked the clouds in the sky and as it was that time of day when the sky was not bright, it made the subject stand out from the background.

Equipment

I used my Samsung phone.

Inspiration

I always like old machinery or pieces of metal that have succumbed to the elements. This piece of farm machinery in the middle of nowhere made for a wonderful subject.

Editing

I did no post processing at all.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my mirror-less Sony 6500 when I travel. I like the small compact size. I also have my phone as a backup especially when it comes to wide angle shots.

Feedback

Just go with the flow and capture things that you see. Do not necessarily chase something. In the strangest places, something will show up.
