Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was shot in my back yard. I love learning new things about my camera, so each picture is a test for me based off what I have taught myself about my camera. I love playing around and getting new fun shots and we love our birds!

Time

This photo was taken around sunset time. I was hanging out on my porch watching the birds and a friend of mine loves rose breasted grosbeaks. So when I saw the bird having a little snack on the feeder I grabbed my camera and took the shot.

Lighting

I wanted this picture to represent the warm evening that it was taken on. I didn’t have to do much editing to show the true colors of the evening just adjusted the temperature up a bit and it was perfect.

Equipment

This was shot on my Nikon D3200

Inspiration

A friend of mine loves these birds so I wanted to get a shot of one to show them. We enjoy bird watching on our deck so it was a great opportunity.

Editing

I didn’t have to do too much editing on this one, just adjusted the temperature up a bit to show the colors of the leaves.

In my camera bag

The items I carry in my bag at all times are all my lens for different types of shots I may come across, I carry a few SD cards and then I also carry one or two circular polarized or UV lens filters just in case.

Feedback

When trying to capture birds you either need to have a place they are comfortable going and with you being around or else you may startle them if you aren’t using a zoom lens. This was taken right from my deck and the bird feeders are about 10 feet from the area the shot was taken. I laid down on my stomach and waited patiently for the right moment and took the shot.
