Behind The Lens

Location

This scene was captured on the beach of lake Siljan in the heart of Sweden. The beach is part of a campsite, quite small but perfectly situated to get fantastic views like this

Time

This was late afternoon and the sun just about to drop below the horizon.

Lighting

I just wanted to get as much details in the sky as possible, the trees would be silhouettes anyway so I went with aperture 11 to get everything in fockus

Equipment

The equipment I used was the Sony a99m2 with a Minolta 11-18, no tripod.

Inspiration

I was just out for a drive when the colors got more and more intense and on the beach I was hoping the ring of fire would "close" for a pretty good photo.

Editing

I used Adobe camera raw for processing, cropping, contrast and colors. Some small adjustments with the foreground in photoshop.

In my camera bag

I always have my Sony a99, a wide angle lens, the CZ 24-70 2,8 and depending on what to do, the Sony 70-200G m2 2,8 or the Sony 70-400G m2

Feedback

I don't think I'm the one to give advice but patience is a virtue in almost every situation. On this occasion it was just pure luck. oh, also try to find something in the foreground, it will make the photo much more interesting to look at
