Lighting

The lighting can commonly be referred to as "golden hour" because of the way the sun illuminates its surroundings. The clouds are almost silhouetted and match the color of the ocean.

Equipment

This photo was taken with my phone camera - Samsung S10.

Inspiration

The deep, moody color of the clouds and water offset by the golden sun were very compelling and made a lovely composition. When taking the photo, I was able to capture the magnificent solar flare in the X shape.

Editing

Normally I do minor photo editing on all of my images, however, this image has absolutely no post-processing edits!

In my camera bag

For this trip, I did not bring any of my normal camera equipment since I did not want to risk it getting ruined or lost. In this case I had my phone camera and an underwater camera!

Feedback

I know a lot of people who don't bring their good cameras with them somewhere so they don't get ruined. However, the best camera is the one you have with you! Even if you don't have your normal photography equipment with you, don't be afraid to take lots of pictures - you may get some phenomenal photos!
