This Northern Harrier has been hunting a field in the Maryland countryside outside of Washington DC for a couple of weeks with photographers lined up a few hundred yards away. There appeared to be a pair of Short-eared hunting the same field. From a distance the two species look alike. I was never sure there were any owls involved.
