Behind The Lens

Location

I actually took this photo about forty years ago, on film, and was one I of a number I took on a family holiday in Wales...lots of sheep in Wales

Time

Shot sometime in the early afternoon

Lighting

Not really, just average daylight, slightly underexposed

Equipment

Olypus OM1 with f1.8 50mm standard lens - a camera I still use today on occasion

Inspiration

It was the look of mindless agression on their faces...that sort of "Who are you? What are you doing on my field" Sheep are not known to bite, but there's always a first time

Editing

This was one I scanned when I came back to photography a couple of years ago. I played with the image a little, bit of cropping, modify the levels and so on, but that is basically the photo I took.

In my camera bag

Depends. I generally carry an Olympus OM-D M5 Mk2 with the 15-150 zoom lens. This goes with me more or less wherever I go, ready to hand. For gig pictures and portraits, I take my 45mm f1.8 as well, which is useful in low light. In my camera case I also have a 75 to 300mm zoom, which is a very useful piece of kit with its close focussing. Handy for photos of butterflies from a couple of metres away.

Feedback

Be nice to the sheep....they are curious creatures, and won't run off if you approach them in a friendly manner
