USA-Southern California -The humming sound of the bird's wings alerts the photographer to set a fast shutter to capture the hummingbird's high speed.Hummingbirds are native to the Americas. This hummingbird is feeding on the flower's nectar of the Bird Of Paradise. The contrasting light and dark in the photo lets the bird's silhouette to be seen against the bright colors of the trees and flowers . The dark silhouette of bird allows the viewer to spot the bird's body and the wings in motion (solid clear body head and the wings blurred to show motion.) The light line from the fence brings the viewer up to the action. Dark and light is a critical component of the composition . I cropped in post and added little saturation.My longest telephoto lens (Sigma 150-500mm) was used because it has big glass to bring in more light for the fast exposure ; The lens extends to 500ml;The telephoto lens is long yet light enough to be hand held for panning; and This lens has a depth of field that allows for controlled creativity.
