The current church building was built in the 15th century to replace an older 11th century church. The original building material, tuff from the Eifel , was reused. The choir was added in the early 16th century. The lower part of the tower dates from the thirteenth century. At the end of the fifteenth century, the tower was increased by a brick section. The current spire was installed in 1867.
