Thanks. I've done this my whole life. I tend to play hard, and as activities either become physically impossible (eg: skiing) or just not as much fun (Harleys), I've simply adapted to new interests. Now that I'm 72, with arthritis and cancer, my physical stuff is limited. But I still can drive a stick shift sports car as well as any young snowflake. And life goes on....

I really love this photo and how the colors of the car matches some of the building colors!

Thank you. I am re-living my teenage years with the Miata. I learned to drive on a Bugeye Sprite, and in later life I had an XK-120. Traditional British sports cars are no more, but the Miata has had the look and the driving experience of the great British 2-seaters since it was invented. Except, thankfully, the electrics are not by Lucas.

Thank you. The Miata is my over-70 retirement fun car. I had to give up riding Harleys once I passed 70 and my knees seriously gave out. Hence the stick shift Miata.

Thank you. Ning took this photo while we were on an ice cream run last Spring. She did a wonderful job.

Location
This photo was taken at our favorite Italian ices & ice cream place in Tempe, Arizona. We had parked our new Mazda Miata while we grabbed some goodies.Time
This photo was taken around 9pm.Lighting
Ning used natural light from the building. She took advantage of the angle at the left rear of the car to get a dramatic composition.Equipment
This photo was taken by Ning with a Samsung Galaxy S8+ cell phone.Inspiration
The evening was beautiful, the top was down, and the building and car colors went together perfectly. The camera angle from behind the car emphasized the rear bodywork on the gorgeous Miata.Editing
Post-processing was minimal and was performed with Adobe Lightroom. In my camera bag
My Canon EOS 5D Mark IV always has my Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens mounted on it. That is my go-to lens for the majority of my photos. I also carry several lenses: Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, and a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. I try to shoot with natural light all the time, but on those occasions where I need an external light source, I use either a Neewer CN-216 LED panel or a Canon Speedlite 580EX. I have tripods by Slik, 3Pod and Manfrotto. Of course, we have our cell phones with us always.Feedback
Look for complementary colors with good reflections. Try to find a unique camera angle.
