Behind The Lens

Location

There is a horse ranch about two miles south from my parent's farm. I knew that I wanted to create a black and white portrait of a horse with a modern stylized edge.

Time

This was shot in the early evening of the day. It wasn't quite golden hour but wasn't midday afternoon either. The sky was cloudy which helped diffused the light. No off camera flash was needed.

Lighting

It was all natural :)

Equipment

The equipment I used was a Canon 5D Mark III, and a 70-200mm canon lens.

Inspiration

I am currently finishing my Masters degree in Fine Art and for one of my photo classes we had to take a black and white portrait and add some type of trend PS effect to it. I chose to do a 3d/glitch effect with mine.

Editing

Yes, I used Lightroom for the raw processing and then I imported it into Photoshop to further enhance my creativity.

In my camera bag

I usually don't carry a bag lol I just grab my camera and go

Feedback

Just have fun, and don't put so much pressure on yourself. Making mistakes means that you are learning, and will end up doing better the next time you try again. When I shot this picture I decided to make the composition different in camera. I was playing and having fun and sometimes it's in those childlike moments you end up creating something wonderful!
