Behind The Lens

Location

This was take in Iceland, it was a plece up north. We were stying in Akureyri. On that day we went to see a geothermal power plant. I can't seem to remember the place(I was here 5 years ago) . If you know it please leave a comment.

Time

This was my second time in Iceland. The fist time I sisited meny places in the south, bust the second time I went up north. The hing that was most memorable was the fact that the sun doesn't really set in the summer, so the whole day was full of beautiful scenery and amazing views. Every morning I would get up at 7 and just go on the road. I think this was taken around noon. I remember this because I havne't had lunch yet and on the walk from the car to this spot Iate un entire pack of cookies (that was the only thing we had in the car).

Lighting

For this image I wanted it to look as if the sky opened up above the water, so I took advantage of the sunnlight at noon.

Equipment

I wanted to capture a wide shot so I opted to use my GoPro Hero 3+. Honestly the GoPro is undeestiamted when it comes to landscape photography.

Inspiration

One thing that I was most fascinated by was the water. I know, weird. To me it's fascinating, all the different colours, how it flows, what is hiding underneath. It's misterious.

Editing

Well teh photo was taken by a GoPro. And I was standing there for a while to get the best light, even so I had to correct the colours ans well as the exposure. One thing I tend to do is stay true to reality, that is why I don't want to overprocess photos. It takes hides the reality, which is what makes photography special. To capture reality, the emotion, the colours, the vibe.

In my camera bag

I always have extra bateries... that is a must. And a small tripod. I use a Sony alppha camera. It's light and great for travel. I use my prime lense, but I also always cary a wide zoom lense. And I always have my Gopro Hero 3+ with a waterprooof housing, just in case. That's it.

Feedback

I take photos of what inspires me. That is usually nature and all teh colours in nature. So what I would say is take photos that inspire you, not photos that look good on instagram.
