Location
I was visiting my friends in Austin, Texas. This photo was taken in the kitchen.Time
It was late at night when we were bored out of our minds when I remember I knew how to do this trick with a lighter.Lighting
Every single spark in the darkness is an attempt of hope.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark IV with an 85mm 1.8. No flash, No Tripod.Inspiration
The youngsters at this home thought it would be cool to see it in a photo, and they were right.Editing
I did, I added a Blue and Gold Gradient map, which I turn into soft light in order to enhance the light a little bit. Although, if I show you the raw file, you will see that not much changed. In my camera bag
I have a Canon 7d with a fish eye lens. A Canon 5D Mark IV with a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 and a Sigma DC 150-500mm. I also carry the 85mm 1.8 in case of shooting portraits.Feedback
You have to find the "sweet spot" of setting in order to get the fire properly. And it will only come with practice. You can try and set your camera up based of someone else but even then, you will have to change your setting and explore the possibilities.
